Derek Crowe was born and raised in Pensacola, FL. As a young child, he was always
attracted to music and the performing arts. During his high school years, he would
freestyle at school and he became known for his innate talent and passion for music. Derek
took his passion a step further during his college years after a friend introduced him to
some music production software. He began learning how to compose music and He began
to study music and music theory. He soon started spending time at a local recording studio
his friend managed, where he was soon brought on as a part of the production team.
In 2015, Derek earned his second degree, graduated with honors with a B.S. in Information
Technology, and shortly after was offered a job located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Derek moved to California for his career in the tech industry, but also had goals to advance
his music/song writing career. It was his interest in music that soon led him down another
path, acting.
In the summer of 2016, Derek became interested in acting after being cast in the ensemble
for a local stage play. Since then, Derek has continued to study acting with the guidance of
multiple coaches and Industry professionals. Talent agents in the San Francisco Bay Area
and in L.A. represent Derek. He continues to book various roles for local film directors and
producers and is auditioning for major roles in L.A. Derek has been in multiple films that are
showing on Amazon, Netflix, and YouTube.
Because of his new career as an actor, he was fortunate enough to be cast in a film that
was being produced and directed by Free Jack. Since then, Derek was soon given the
opportunity to be a part of the Teknitions. His genres of music he enjoys making is pop,
hip-hop, and country.
